Another day, Another darknet market hacked, this time its Omicron Market.
If you have not heard of this market don’t be surprised. Omicron Market went live a few months ago and never really gained any users or vendors.
Omicron market would have eventually close down, just like many other darknet markets who don’t manage to raise above the competition, but eventually it had a bit of a different ending.
Omicron Market admin apparently is not even a developer, meaning he has to hire programmers to code his market, and he made the mistake of hiring someone who ended blackmailing him and eventually taking the market offline.

The story starts a couple a weeks before the market went offline, with Omicron market admin publishing an ad for a PHP developer, a thing that almost no darknet market admin will do.
Good day,
I’m the admin of Omicron Market and I’m posting a good job what I’m looking for
PHP developer who is always online and communicates very well and who can implement ideas well who can develop new features who want to earn something and want to raise something big with me
Your job would be:
Fixed bugs on the server
Development of new features
Team ability if we have multiple team members
trustworthinessIf you are willing to work with me, please contact me, you can earn a lot
The money from the market revenue will then be paid out monthly as soon as I have met you

Omicron Admin
Looking for PHP developer who is good at developing and wants to become a team of Omicron Market
It seems that he found someone, but that someone did not “fixed bugs on the server” but decided to take the server hostage.

With a short post, Omicron admin has wrote-
I’m sorry my programmer tricked me and stole omicron and he just stole everything
I’m sorry folks”
Omicron Market was stolen by a hacker

He later on added a very simple explanation-
my market was destroyed i paid someone to program and they locked me out and blackmailed me etc
and deleted the whole server backups everything
Omicron market admin has learned a valuable lesson in not hiring random people of the internet to work on your darknet market, and more importantly, not to get involved in running a darknet market without having any knowledge on web development. As for the few users of Omicron market, they can be thankful that it was taken down by a hacker and not by police like many other previous darknet market were.
As for users who are looking to avoid using small darknet markets who have incompetent admins, we suggest to check our list of top darknet markets where you can choose any darknet market from that list to use.
UPDATE:

Seems like the alleged hacker has come forward and published his side of the story. Under the topic “Stay away from omicron marketโฆ compromised!” he has published that Omicron market admin is and “Austrian gentleman from Grez” and that the server is accessed through the clearnet “at an ipv4 address ending in 107″.
He has claimed that he took the job offer of senior php developer for 300 euros, and got the admin to click on an IP grabber link that gave him the admins real IP address in Austria.

The Omicron market seems to be hosted on Flokinet hosting company that is located in Romania.
The hacker added also that he has notified the hosting company and that he also expects Europol to catch the Omicron market admin (which apparently is also using Windows 10 as his operating system).
